Unparalleled views
The land on the Plas Newydd estate has unparalleled views across the sparkling Menai Strait towards the charming harbour village of Y Felinheli and the majestic mountains of Snowdonia. The panorama is simply astonishing, no matter what time of day or month of the year.
Nestled in the middle is Llanedwen church, consecrated originally in 640AD, so to say this place has some history would be like saying the Beatles were quite popular.
A location like this is only limited by the imagination as there’s acres of space. The church obviously lends itself well to a wedding on this site, with a large marquee for the celebration, but one could just as easily host a private party, a pop-up restaurant or a festival, with the most spectacular backdrop.

Why we love this venue
The sheer size of the landscape here is what drew us to this spot as a Oyster venue. We could sit here all day watching the light change over Snowdonia, and looking out for dolphins in the Menai strait.
When the sun goes down the sparkling lights of Felinheli reflect on the water and lend the whole place a riviera vibe that makes you want to turn the music up and dance the night away.

Words from the owner
Where is the light best?
Everywhere. You’re surrounded by it.
Where’s the best spot to have a gin and tonic?
In the shade of the large oak tree by the church, looking towards Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon), toasting mother nature and your own good luck that you’re where you are.
What’s your favourite memory of the place?
We had a spectacular wedding here one year that will live on in infamy as the best party I’ve ever been to, and why I decided to share the land with Oyster. The sun shone all day and the amount of space just made it feel like our own private festival, in honour of the mountains.
